About the University

BITS, Pilani- K. K. Birla Goa Campus is one of the four campuses of The Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani, a well-known all-India Institute for higher education. BITS Pilani has received prestigious Institute of Eminence (IoE) status in 2018. BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus has been accredited by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) with A grade with a CGPA of 3.45. The Goa Campus was commissioned in August 2004. Nesting in the lap of verdant hills, overlooking the Zuari River, the Campus is spread over an area of 180 acres. The location of campus is unique in the respect of scenic beauty and panoramic view of picturesque surrounding encompassing Zuari River, hillocks, waterways, forests and landscape. Being an Institute of excellence in Technology and Sciences, the primary motive of the university is to "train young men and women able and eager to create and put into action such ideas, methods, techniques and information". Being fully residential, the university hosts 3.5K students and 0.5 K staffs (including family) in the campus.

About the Department

The department is just a decade old but is well known nationally and internationally for its excellence in both academic and research activities. The department offers M.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry and Ph.D. to the aspiring students. The department is recipient of several grants of national agencies (such as DST, DBT, CSIR, DRDO, BRNS) and international agencies (e.g. The Royal Academy of Engineering). The department has also received developmental grants e.g., DST-FIST for major equipment. The department with 17 highly motivated faculty members is actively involved in academic developments and research in conventional as well as emerging areas of chemistry and allied subjects. The department and its faculty members are also engaged with various national and international collaborations.

BITS Pilani, K K Birla Goa Campus, is about 10 kms south of Vasco-da-Gama, 20 kms north of Margaon and 7 kms east of Goa Airport, along National Highway - 17B, Bypass road.
