The faculty members with post graduate degrees, such as M.E., M.Tech, M.Phil, are required to take up this examination before they start their Ph. D. thesis work. Every year Ph.D. qualifying examination is conducted at BITS-Pilani Goa campus in the month of March and October. This examination is based on the respective postgraduate syllabus. The nature of the examination is open book followed by viva.
