The students here at BITS earned basic sneak peak into the complicated world of Six Sigma, the productivity and management approach which has taken the corporate and industrial world by storm. Mr Malolan Sarangapani, a '92 batch mechanical Engineer from BITS, Pilani conducted a 2-hour workshop to familiarise the students with the concept and its utility. Mr Malolan, a Black Belt holder in Six Sigma, who currently heads the Global Immigration Services at Cognizant has a diverse experience of over 14 years in the field of quality and productivity control and has worked in Ford Motor Company among others before joining Cognizant six years back. He is the architect of the Six Sigma programme at the company and leads the initiative in IT industries.
The talk was attended by close to 175 students and was jointly organised by BITSAA and the Department of Sponsorship & Marketing (DOSM) at the Goa Campus. |
