Having made a significant contribution in $1.5 million BITS Connect project that enabled BITS to boast of owning the best broadband network among all the universities in India and then by redefining BITS system of education after successful launch of BITSEmbryo at both Pilani and Goa campuses within a short span of time, BITS alumni seem truly promising about paying it back to their alma matter.
Recent launch of Embryo at Goa campus was long cherished and with Dr. L. K. Maheshwari ,Vice Chancellor, BITS gracing the epoch-making inaugural ceremony on Jan’20th, a new chapter was being added to the pliable, unconventional and ever evolving structure of BITS educational pattern. The first lecture was delivered by Dr. Jayan Ramankutty, founding member, BITSAA and one of the most successful BITSian serial entrepreneur from the university, on one of the most pertinent and emerging topics in the present context ‘ENTREPRENEURSHIP: Food For Thought’. The prime objective of the inception of this unique and innovative venture is to cater a common platform to alumni, faculty and students to connect well.
Right in the third year of its establishment, exposure to cutting edge technology trends through plans like Embryo will surely inculcate a vibe of confidence in students of this budding campus. The Embryo team at Goa Campus is looking forward to arrange a series of lectures by plenty of alumni working in diverse areas like academics, research, business etc. all over the world so that maximum number of students would be able to reap optimum advantage. Also, there will be an opportunity for interested students to work on certain research areas in guidance of alumni with decent expertise and then this video conferencing which started with help of skype and webcam will provide them an experience of lifetime. Embryo, as a long term vision, is bound to prosper and revolutionize agelong traditions in field of education ,where in physical distances will become immaterial and all sorts of curiosity and dilemma will be quenched with ease and comfort. If alumni continue adding feathers to the exorbitant glory of BITS in similar fashion and experiments in pursuit of excellence go simultaneously, the day doesn’t seem too far when this university will become an abundant knowledge pool. |
