The department presents learning by means of an interdisciplinary and multifaceted approach. Research at the Department of Biological Sciences is multidisciplinary with topics of exploration burgeon from plants, animals and microorganisms with perspectives from nano, micro and macro level. Basic theories as well as application oriented concepts are being studied here Research at the Department of Biological Sciences, consisting of 16 faculty members, is multidisciplinary ranging from neurobiology, reproductive physiology, toxicology, microbiology, nano-biotechnology to computational biology. Efforts towards understanding biological objects and their working, has experimental and computational directions. Basic theories as well as application oriented concepts are being studied here.
The Society for Reproductive Biology and Comparative Endocrinology, established in 1980, is one of the most regular, vibrant scientific societies in India that aims to gather all the research workers in the field of Reproductive Biology and Comparative Endocrinology, to get together, discuss and promote research in the areas of reproduction and endocrinology. The annual meet provides a platform for all scientists working in the fields of Endocrinology and Reproductive Biology to exchange ideas, update their knowledge and interact freely.
